What You Should Know About FF&E Ship Dates
Many hotel renovations and new builds were progressing nicely during the early part of 2020, only to be stopped in their tracks due to the pandemic. As those projects now resume, they’re facing several challenges. A big one is the current status of manufacturing and shipping.
In March and April, during the initial phases of COVID, a number of hotel FF&E producers and parts suppliers shifted over to making essential products for the fight against the pandemic. Many vendors also had to furlough part of their workforces. The overall result was that manufacturing FF&E slowed considerably. However, since many hotels were closed or not able to receive shipments, the impact was not as great. Fortunately, suppliers and hotels have come a long way since the start of the pandemic.
With few exceptions, manufacturers are open and running again after the shutdowns. They have replenished their workforces and pivoted back to FF&E production. As they ramp up their factories, it is taking them longer than usual to fulfill orders. With a high number of backorders and hotels wanting delivery as soon as possible, suppliers are racing to keep up with demand. The scramble for timely production has also created a communication gap with logistics coordinators who are sometimes struggling to get information and updates from vendors. Fortunately, Innvision Hospitality has excellent relationships with hotel FF&E vendors and their representatives. We’re leveraging those relationships to keep our orders and shipments moving forward within our clients’ timelines.
It’s vitally important to Innvision that our clients stay informed and up to date on the status of their FF&E orders. Reach out to get more information on how Innvision can move your hospitality project forward.
